The Southwest Regional Medical Center Rehabilitation Department (Peak Performance) provides Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy services to the residents of Brown County and neighboring communities.

Peak Performance is dedicated to providing outstanding rehabilitation services, assisting patients in achieving their optimal level of function and independence.  Our licensed professionals with combined experience exceeding 40 years are equipped with a skill set to provide individualized treatment plans to promote the highest level of rehabilitation possible.

Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy staff at Peak Performance works with patients to restore their function following an injury, illness, or surgery.  Physical Therapists teach patients specific exercises, stretches and techniques and implement the use of specialized equipment to address specific functional deficits. Modalities such as heat/cold, electrical stimulation, ultrasound and traction in addition to exercise and manual therapy techniques are used to address the specific needs of each patient.  Manual therapy techniques used include joint mobilization, massage and muscle energy techniques to help each patient return to the highest level of function possible.  Physical Therapists also establish individualized work conditioning and work simulation programs to enable patients to confidently transition into the work field following injury.

  • Shoulder impingement or pain

  • Tendonitis

  • Post-operative care following Orthopedic or Total Joint Replacement Surgeries

Speech Therapy

 The Speech Language Pathology professionals at Peak Performance work with patients of all ages to assess and treat speech and language development and human communication and swallowing disorders.

Common diagnoses treated through speech therapy include:

  • Developmental/Speech Delay
  • Stroke and other neurological conditions
  • Brain Injury
  • Swallowing dysfunctions
  • Cognitive Impairment
  • Articulation problems
